Waterston thinks we Give a shit about his opinion
It just galls me to think these pompous asshole actors honestly believe that their opinion on anything matters.
If they wanted to change the world and really contribute then they would have entered a profession that would make a difference, like medicine or science or technology.
Instead they pretend to be other people acting out fantasies and think that it gives them gravitas.
Morons.
Leave policy to the people who still live in the real world douche-bag.

Lame Stream Media Wants Google Preference, Update:Bill proposed to rescue newspapers
It’s no mystery why the dead tree dailies and the liberal media are dying in the internet/cable news age. More and more people are finding alternative ways to keep informed and the “traditional” sources are just not keeping pace with changing ideas.
Media Giants Want to Top Google Results
Argue That Professional Sources Should Be More Recognized Than Blogs
NEW YORK (AdAge.com) — Major media companies are increasingly lobbying Google to elevate their expensive professional content within the search engine’s undifferentiated slush of results. Many publishers resent the criteria Google uses to pick top results, starting with the original PageRank formula that depended on how many links a page got. But crumbling ad revenue is lending their push more urgency; this is no time to show up on the third page of Google search results. And as publishers renew efforts to sell some content online, moreover, they’re newly upset that Google’s algorithm penalizes paid content.
“You should not have a system,” one content executive said, “where those who are essentially parasites off the true producers of content benefit disproportionately.”

There’s just something wrong about any business model that, when it can’t compete in the market place, looks to regulation (like the “Fairness Doctrine“).
Unless local media are covering school board or city council meetings, then opinion creeps in intentional or not, and that’s what drives blogs and bloggers.
A venue that permits interpretation of the events and happenings from their perspective. This is the epitome of free speech in America and one that the established liberal media cannot tolerate.
Update:
U.S. bill seeks to rescue faltering newspapers
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – With many U.S. newspapers struggling to survive, a Democratic senator on Tuesday introduced a bill to help them by allowing newspaper companies to restructure as nonprofits with a variety of tax breaks.
“This may not be the optimal choice for some major newspapers or corporate media chains but it should be an option for many newspapers that are struggling to stay afloat,” said Senator Benjamin Cardin.
A Cardin spokesman said the bill had yet to attract any co-sponsors, but had sparked plenty of interest within the media, which has seen plunging revenues and many journalist layoffs.
Cardin’s Newspaper Revitalization Act would allow newspapers to operate as nonprofits for educational purposes under the U.S. tax code, giving them a similar status to public broadcasting companies.
Under this arrangement, newspapers would still be free to report on all issues, including political campaigns. But they would be prohibited from making political endorsements.
Advertising and subscription revenue would be tax exempt, and contributions to support news coverage or operations could be tax deductible.
Because newspaper profits have been falling in recent years, “no substantial loss of federal revenue” was expected under the legislation, Cardin’s office said in a statement.~snip~
So if they can’t make it in the free market then we are supposed to subsidize them?
It just gets better and better don’t it?
