MSM Ostrich Syndrome

Well it’s been a whole day since Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor rally and yet the mainstream media has pretty much put their blinders on and continue to attempt to demonize the participants by dragging out the old tired “racist” label and lowballing the actual number of patriots who attended.

There’s all kinds of pictures on the internet that pretty much debunks the “87,000″ that CBS News said was there.

Weasel Zippers has a great blog post on the crowds.

But my point isn’t as much about the rally as it is about the continuous denial of the commie progressive leftists who insist that numbers mean nothing.

From the number of people who attended the rally, disapprove of Obamacare, disapprove of TARP, disapprove of the way the federal government “enforces” immigration, disapprove of Obama’s supreme court nominess and generally just disapproves of the democratic controlled congress.

And yet the MSM continues to carry water for these policies that no one wants. The disconnect between the politicians, the press and the people is now complete.

Even some on the far left have begun to realize that congress is in for a big change and Obama is a one term president.

One thing for me that will make it all worth it is that when the whining on the left starts in 2011 I’ll be able to smile and tell them, “you brought it all on yourselves leftards”.

Pro-Criminal Advocates Protest Gov. Brewer

Yup, if you’re pro illegal aliens then you are pro-criminal.

That’s what illegal means.

Immigrant Advocates Protest Arizona Gov. Brewer at Boston Meeting

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who is under fire for her crackdown on illegal immigrants, faced  demonstrations in Boston by immigrant advocates and their allies as she attends the annual National Governors Association meeting.

A coalition of immigrant groups has bused in advocates from around the East Coast for a noon rally Saturday to protest Arizona’s controversial immigration law, recently signed by Brewer.

Protesters in Copley Square said Brewer was a bigot and called for the end of what they said was “racist deportation.” They later marched to a hotel where Brewer was attending the annual governors meeting.

The law, which is facing a U.S. Justice Department challenge, requires police to question people about their immigration status while enforcing other laws if there’s reason to suspect someone is in the country illegally.

The law takes effect July 29 unless blocked by a court. The law does not define reasonable suspicion, but police training materials say triggers for such checks can include speaking poor English, traveling in a crowded vehicle and hanging out in an area where illegal immigrants typically congregate.

Notice they had to bus them in.

Arizona’s law is the result of years of neglect by Washington to enforce it’s own legislation. People all over the country are getting tired of it and these protests will only harden the resolve of citizens and legal immigrants to force the Washinton elite to either do their constitutional duty or get ready to step out of the way so that the electorate can put people in office who will.

Opposing the will of the majority will have consequences this November.

What do we have without a congress?

Dictatorship.

There’s a reason congress has confirmation hearings, so the process and person nominated can be vetted in open and for all the public to see.

President to Fill Medicare and Medicaid Post Without Senate Approval

WASHINGTON — President Obama intends to bypass Congress and appoint Dr. Donald Berwick to head Medicare and Medicaid, the White House announced Tuesday — filling the job while Congress is in recess to get around Republican opposition that threatened to derail Berwick’s confirmation.

Berwick’s supporters say he is the right man in the right place at the right time. But his opponents have lined up against him. They say that while he may be a the highly respected doctor, he is also an outspoken proponent of the British health care system, which they say is all wrong for Americans.

“This recess appointment is an insult to the American people,” Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said Tuesday night. “Dr. Berwick is a self-professed supporter of rationing health care, and he won’t even have to explain his views to the American people in a Congressional hearing.”

Berwick, a 63-year-old pediatrician, heads the Institute for Health Care Improvement in Cambridge, Mass., and he has been a longtime leader of the movement to reform health care from within. For decades he has challenged doctors and hospitals to provide health care that “is safe, effective, patient-oriented, timely, efficient and equitable,” with a surprising degree of success. In the months since he was nominated, not one industry group has voiced opposition to his nomination.

But the early accolades for the Harvard Medical School graduate’s nomination to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services came to an abrupt end in May when a triumvirate of Republican senators attacked Berwick for “favoring health care rationing” and “being in love” with Britain’s National Health Care System.

Obviously Obama doesn’t want any opposition aired in public.

The Pomposity of the Democratic Congress

I can’t even begin to express the disgust that I feel for the liberal douche bags that, I’m embarrassed to say, occupy congress.

Unlike others, I don’t expect BP’s CEO Tony Hayward to fall on his sword.

But I, like many Americans, do expect a full accounting of the accident and the spill….after it’s contained and the clean-up is well under way.

There is no earthly purpose to drag the CEO’s from any oil company before congress other than to allow a bunch of pompous blowhards to pontificate for the cameras and try to score points with the fawning media.

What it’s really about is contrived theatre, the hearings won’t clean up the oil, won’t stop the leak, won’t compensate anyone for their loses. In other words it’s all about demonstrating how certain democrat congress critters feel.

And a circus for the rest of us.

I’m sure everyone involved has better things to do.

Arizona type law in Arkansas

It could be a possibility.

Arkansas leaders look to Arizona for illegal immigration solutions

Some Arkansas lawmakers wonder if the controversial new immigration law in Arizona could be right for the Natural State too.  Starting this summer police in Arizona will ask people to show proof of citizenship if they think they’re in the country illegally.

Some Arkansas legislators say the current system of enforcing immigration laws isn’t working so they’re looking at alternatives like this.

~

Republican Representative John Burris of Harrison says undocumented immigrants place a financial burden on the state, costing money for medical care and education without contributing to the system through taxes, with the exception of sales tax.

Burris said, “We’re going to continue to bleed and our state’s going to bankrupt.”

Now Burris and other Arkansas lawmakers have started looking into other options.

Burris said, “I think we need to watch Arizona, see how their law that they passed effects illegal immigration in their state and then when we go into session in January we need to do what we can to effect illegal immigration in our state.”

All the polls around the country show overwhelming support for Arizona’s new anti-illegal immigration law.

If the federal government won’t step up and do the job then the states will take the matter into their own hands.

When you think about it these laws are basically just a stop gap in the war on illegal immigration. There will be a huge change in congress this November and when that happens then maybe enforcement can go back to the federal level.

Either way there is going to be a huge push to control the borders and the states will force that one way or the other.

Get a clue Leftards, We don’t want this health Bill

Even a leftard news outfit like CBS can’t commision a poll that shows most Americans approve of the health care bill.
I’m sure they’ll keep trying though.
Poll: Most Want GOP to Keep Fighting on Health Bill

A CBS News poll released Wednesday finds that nearly two in three Americans want Republicans in Congress to continue to challenge parts of the health care reform bill.

The Senate version of the legislation was passed by the House Sunday night, and President Obama signed it into law on Tuesday. The House also passed a separate reconciliation bill, which cannot be filibustered, that is now being debated in the Senate. That bill would make changes to the bill already signed into law.

Senate Republicans are now challenging whether the bill is truly a budget reconciliation bill (which is what makes it filibuster-proof) and inserting amendments designed to slow down passage. Republican attorneys general are also planning to challenge the constitutionality of the law.

The poll finds that 62 percent want Congressional Republicans to keep challenging the bill, while 33 percent say they should not do so. Nearly nine in ten Republicans and two in three independents want the GOP to keep challenging. Even 41 percent of Democrats support continued challenges.

Friday Night Libtard Funnies

Found this over at Weasel Zippers.

Some clueless idiot liberal SOB claims that the Walter Reed Army Medical Center  isn’t government run medical care.

I cannot believe this country lets these clueless boobs anywhere near a voting booth.

As long as we’re talking about clueless idiots how about Nancy “blinky eye” Pelosi claiming she’s running the most ethical congress evah!!!

Hey wait?

Ain’t Charlie Rangel a congressman?

Documents Show Rangel Had Info on Corporate-Sponsored Trips to Caribbean

Rep. Charlie Rangel had information that corporations were funding his trips to the Caribbean in violation of House rules, documents released Friday by the House ethics committee show, as pressure mounts for him to resign his leadership post.

But the beleaguered chairman of the powerful Ways and Means committee disputes that the evidence points to wrongdoing on his part, and he has refused to resign.

The ethics panel was unable to determine whether Rangel knew about the financing but found that his staff did — and concluded Rangel was responsible for learning the truth.

In the documents, investigators said Rangel’s aides wrote memos to the congressman, indicating that corporate sponsors were footing the bill. But Rangel denied seeing any of the memos.

Of course he didn’t see them ;)

EPA Issues Ultimatum

The EPA apparently thinks it can usurp the power of congress, here’s their latest threat.

Administration Warns of ‘Command-and-Control’ Regulation Over Emissions

The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn’t move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a “command-and-control” role over the process in a way that could hurt business.

The warning, from a top White House economic official who spoke Tuesday on condition of anonymity, came on the eve of EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson’s address to the international conference on climate change in Copenhagen, Denmark.

And later on in the article:

But while administration officials have long said they prefer Congress take action on climate change, the economic official who spoke with reporters Tuesday night made clear that the EPA will not wait and is prepared to act on its own.

And it won’t be pretty.

“If you don’t pass this legislation, then … the EPA is going to have to regulate in this area,” the official said. “And it is not going to be able to regulate on a market-based way, so it’s going to have to regulate in a command-and-control way, which will probably generate even more uncertainty.”

Since the EPA was created it has consistantly over stepped it’s bounds, I think this newest development proves beyond a doubt that it is time to dismantle this monolith and return regulating the evironment of this country to congress.

Lots of Name Calling but no Facts

Sarah Palins facebook facebook entry on health care has sure stirred up the minions of Obama’s pro health care brigade.

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

~snip~

Her posting has drawn out all sorts insults up to and including faux outrage that she would “use” her own baby as a “cheap and sickening” talking point.

But as usual there is nothing to argue against the very point that she talks about, which is that under Obama care medical decisions affecting everyone in this country will be decided by what is basically a “central planning” committee.

As  a matter of fact, no where have I yet seen any attempt to provide facts or cognisant arguments saying why Sarah Palin is wrong, just that she is followed by insults.

Way to keep the debate classy libtards.

On another note Congress woman Michelle Bachman stood up in the U.S. House quoting Obamas own advisers laying out their positions on health care policy.

And again instead of offering any kind of considered rebuttal, she is described as the “queen of GOP dementia” and giving a “rant” that is “certifiable”.

Truth is there can be no debate on health care if everytime someone voices their concerns about what they percieve to be in the bill they are shouted down and insulted for bringing up the issue.

Which says to me that there never was any intention to debate it, just to ram it through,

Sarah Palin’s on the Loose

Sarah Palin is no longer governor of Alaska but she didn’t go quietly in the night,

Palin’s “Mad as Hell” Speech

Here’s the money quote:

“You represent what could and should be a respected, honest profession that could and should be a cornerstone of our democracy,” she said. “Democracy depends on you, and that is why-that’s why our troops are willing to die for you. So how about in honor of the American soldier, you quit makin’ things up.”

Whatever she has planned for the future she ain’t saying, but I doubt very seriously we will hear the end of her, nor the end of the personal attacks against her and her family.

I don’t know what it is about this woman that has pundits and commentators on the left so determined to marginalize and vilify her….other that the fact that when she accepted the invitation from the McCain campaign to run as the VP nominee people who were depressed and uninterested in the republican party suddenly sat up and took notice.

She connected to the base and maybe that’s what has them scared….and it should. Obama’s poll numbers are not looking as rosy as they did a month ago and neither is congresses.

Pelosi doesn’t care what your opinion of her is.

Maybe that’s another reason they despise Palin, people feel that she does care and she seems to communicate that. That’s a lot better than the pompous arrogance we’ve been getting from the White House and congress for the last few months…..and I don’t see it getting any better.

Maybe what the pundits and commentators are really telling us with their attacks on Palin is that she truly does have a chance in the next presidential election, with Obama and Pelosi’s help that is and that they have to do something to prevent that.
