Clinton’s Immortalized on Street Sign
As they say in the local vernacular, there’s a little town up north a piece from where I live, whose city council is getting ready to vote on changing a street name to honor the Clinton’s.
Proposed Street Name Change Worries Residents, Promotes Tourism
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –The Clinton House Museum Board of Directors and the City Council of Fayetteville are proposing to change the name of California Boulevard to Clinton Boulevard.
The Board of Directors approved the resolution on July 9 to change the name in honor of former residents and owners of the home at 903 California Blvd., Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton. The director at the Clinton House Museum, Kate Johnson, said it’s a way to honor the prominent figures within Fayetteville and Arkansas. The couple was married in their home on California Blvd. and the house is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
As far as I know there are no former or current brothels in the area. I guess it’s to be expected, since Fayetteville is where the University of Arkansas is located.
We’ve been thinking of possibly other streets that can be renamed in honor of the Clintons. How about:
“Monica Place”?
“Rose Law Lane”?
“White Water Ave”?
“Vince Foster Memorial Hwy”?
“Sniper Str.”
“McDougal Drive”
Update: A few more just in.
“”Is” Avenue”
“Stain Street”
“Psychotic Speedway”
“Impeachment Court”
“Troopergate Trail”
I’m sure others could come up with many more, naming the street “Clinton Boulevard” really doesn’t do justice to the legacy of Bill “BJ” Clinton and Hillary.

Meanwhile the Candy asses in Arkansas do nothing
Of course the Secretary of State, Charlie Daniels, some how found fewer names than what Secure Arkansas thought they submitted to put a measure on the ballot to bar illegal immigrants from getting most state services.
Why is this no surprise?
Immigration Signatures Fall Short Of Ballot
LITTLE ROCK – Secure Arkansas grossly miscounted the number of signatures it submitted in support of a ballot proposal on illegal immigration and did not qualify to put the measure before voters in November, Secretary of State Charlie Daniels said Friday.
Last week, the grass-roots group submitted what it said in an affidavit were 78,211 signatures in support of a proposed constitutional amendment to bar illegal immigrants from receiving most state services. The group needed 77,468 signatures of registered Arkansas voters to place the measure on the Nov. 2 general election ballot.
At the time the signatures were submitted, the secretary of state’s office said it would begin validating the signatures, and if the number of validated signatures fell short of the 77,468 threshold, the group would have 30-day “cure period” to make up the difference.
On Friday, Daniels’ office said an accounting firm counted the signatures submitted by Secure Arkansas and found 67,542 – more than 10,000 fewer signatures than the group stated it was submitting in its affidavit.
The firm only counted the signatures and did not invalidate any of them, said Sandra McGrew, spokeswoman for the secretary of state’s office.
“Since they did not have the required amount to begin with, then there is no cure period,” McGrew said.
Like I’m sure the organization would have submitted the signatures short and just hoped someone didn’t notice.
Remember that this is the state that gave us Bill “BJ” Clinton and cankles Hillary.
Of course there will be no proof of anything, the good old boys in Little Rock are famous for covering their asses. But you have to wonder how much we don’t know….considering how much we do…..such as:
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Federal officials raided Wal-Mart stores across the United States Thursday, arresting about 250 illegal immigrants working on cleaning crews at 61 stores in 21 states.
The Tyson Foods – illegal immigrant case: past and present.
Steve Striffler’s highly informative book, “Chicken: the dangerous transformation of America’s favorite food”, gives the story behind the indictment and trial of three Tyson Food executives for systematically hiring illegal Hispanic immigrants. I will relate in skeletal form the story. It starts with the arrival of a 20 year old man from Chihuahua into the U.S. in 1979, runs through the poultry industry boom in the 1990s, the federal indictment of and subsequent jury vote in favor of Tyson Foods, and a current effort to sue Tyson for RICO violations.
There are, of course, other instances to numerous to mention. One of the things to remember is that Arkansas has been and still is primarily a rural agricultural state. So their history of exploiting immigrants, legal or not, is a long one.
While it’s important to praise and stand behind states like Arizona and Oklahoma for their stand on illegal immigration it’s also important for us to shame states who don’t bother to protect their citizens from the criminals that the federal government allows in the country.

Arizona type law in Arkansas
It could be a possibility.
Arkansas leaders look to Arizona for illegal immigration solutions
Some Arkansas lawmakers wonder if the controversial new immigration law in Arizona could be right for the Natural State too. Starting this summer police in Arizona will ask people to show proof of citizenship if they think they’re in the country illegally.
Some Arkansas legislators say the current system of enforcing immigration laws isn’t working so they’re looking at alternatives like this.
~
Republican Representative John Burris of Harrison says undocumented immigrants place a financial burden on the state, costing money for medical care and education without contributing to the system through taxes, with the exception of sales tax.
Burris said, “We’re going to continue to bleed and our state’s going to bankrupt.”
Now Burris and other Arkansas lawmakers have started looking into other options.
Burris said, “I think we need to watch Arizona, see how their law that they passed effects illegal immigration in their state and then when we go into session in January we need to do what we can to effect illegal immigration in our state.”
All the polls around the country show overwhelming support for Arizona’s new anti-illegal immigration law.
If the federal government won’t step up and do the job then the states will take the matter into their own hands.
When you think about it these laws are basically just a stop gap in the war on illegal immigration. There will be a huge change in congress this November and when that happens then maybe enforcement can go back to the federal level.
Either way there is going to be a huge push to control the borders and the states will force that one way or the other.

Cop Killer Clemmons Still at Large
Maurice Clemmons, the suspected killer of 4 police officers is still at large with some rumours circulating that he maybe heading back to Arkansas.
But then again why shouldn’t he head back here where he was basically given every chance at being free despite his criminal record.
When Mike Huckabee was governor he commuted Clemmons 108 year sentence down to a sentence that made him eligible for parole. Even then he still couldn’t stay out of trouble being returned for a parole violation until 2004.
Old Huckabee of course has tryed to spread the blame around.
Huckabee said the criminal justice system “failed miserably” in Clemmons’ case.
“If I could’ve known nine years ago, looked into the future, would I have acted favorably upon the parole board’s recommendation?” Huckabee told Fox News Radio on Monday. “Of course not.”
Fact is he was the one who started the whole thing by making Clemmons eligible for parole in the first place, if he’d left the sentence alone we wouldn’t be seeing what we are now.
Mike Huckabee was the most commuting or pardoning governor of Arkansas ever….and society will be the ones to pay the price.
Wash. shooting re-opens Huckabee’s clemency record
Michelle Malkin is keeping up with the latest on the manhunt for Clemmons.

Anne Pressly’s Killer Sentenced
Today the killer of Anne Pressly was sentenced to life in prison for her brutal rape and murder.
If you read through some of the articles that describe the evidence in the trial it really befuddles my mind why they go for life instead of the death penalty.
He viciously raped this woman and then took a large object and beat her with it so hard that they found some of her teeth elsewhere in the room and her jaw was forced back to the point that it cut off the blood supply to her brain.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One blow ruined her smile and others crushed the middle of her face, but the attack on television personality Anne Pressly didn’t end until after her jaw was forced to the back of her head and cut off blood flow to her brain, a medical examiner said Tuesday.
Arkansas TV Anchorwoman’s Killer Sentenced to Life in Prison
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A jury sentenced a man to life in prison Thursday for the beating death of a popular Arkansas television personality, sparing him the death penalty after hearing testimony about his rocky upbringing by an abusive, drug-addicted mother.
Jurors deliberated less than three hours before recommending that Curtis Lavelle Vance, 29, be sentenced to life in prison without parole for the death of Anne Pressly. They also handed down a life sentence for rape, 20 years for burglary and 10 years for theft.
The brutality was unbelievable. The guy’s an animal and should be put down, not live out his life on the taxpayers dime.

Anne Pressly’s Killer Found Guilty
A life cut to short, sometimes I wonder if there is ever is a full measure of justice done .
Arkansas Man Found Guilty of TV Anchor’s Beating Murder
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A man was convicted of capital murder Wednesday for beating an Arkansas TV anchorwoman so brutally that her face was shattered and she never regained consciousness before dying five days later.Curtis Lavelle Vance could face the death penalty for the assault on Anne Pressly at her Little Rock bungalow. The same jury that convicted him reconvened to hear testimony about whether he should be put to death or imprisoned without the possibility of parole. After the verdict, Pressly’s mother, Patti Cannady, raised a hand and said, “Praise God. Praise God.” She burst into sobs.Vance, 29, of Marianna, was also convicted of residential burglary along with rape and theft of property in the Oct. 20, 2008, attack. Once jurors delivered the guilty verdict, Vance gestured toward the empty jury box, pointed to his eyes and ears and shook his head.
The weekend before she was attacked, Pressly, a 26-year-old local celebrity, had been celebrating her bit part in the President Bush biopic “W.” Due on KATV’s “Daybreak” program at 5 a.m. that Monday morning, she never answered more than 40 wake-up calls made by her parents.

Little Rock, AR. Shooting had “political and religious motives”
More details on the motive for the shooting at a Little Rock recruiting center are starting to come out.
1 killed, 1 wounded in shooting at Army recruiting center in Little Rock, Ark
After officers arrested the suspect, Thomas told reporters at a news conference that there were “political and religious motives for the attack.” Thomas said the gunman targeted the military but was not believed to be part of a broader scheme.
Here’s a little more background from FOX News.
Police: Recruiting Center Gunman Targeted Military
Police arrested Muhammad, 23, along an interstate moments after the shootings at the Army-Navy Career Center in a shopping center in west Little Rock.
Muhammad had converted to Islam at some point in his life and interviews with police show he “probably had political and religious motives for the attack,” the police chief said.
Muhammad, previously known as Carlos Bledsoe, was not part of a larger group nor was his attack part of a larger conspiracy, Thomas said.
“We believe that it’s associated with his disagreement over the military operations,” the police chief said.
The picture emerging here is a terrible crime clearly motivated by political and religious views. Let’s hope that the traditional media is as diligent in their coverage of all crime victims.

Gay Rights Intimidation
Tuesday night the local FOX affiliate in my little town did a story about knowthyneighbor.org.
Seems they’ve published the names of everyone in Arkansas who signed the petition putting the Arkansas Unmarried Couple Adoption Ban on the ballot.
This ban disallows any cohabiting couple from adopting children regardless of their sexual orientation, but it has been designated anti-gay.
The group who worked to place it on the ballot was concerned about gay adoption, however they are also against unmarried heterosexual partners adopting children.
Not only do they list the name and address of each signer to the petition, but they got copies of their signatures and scanned them onto their server, making the actual signature of each person available by clicking on the name.
The reason they did it is intimidation.
From Knowthyneighbor.org website:
“This is about responsibility and dialogue,” said Tom Lang, KnowThyNeighbor.org’s director. “These petition signers need to stand behind their signatures and be responsible for this dehumanizing attack on the gay community. It’s disgraceful that they have chosen to exercise their prejudice at the expense of children who are now being denied access to loving adoptive and foster parents. Such activity must be challenged and cannot be allowed to pass under the cover of darkness.”
As in Massachusetts and Florida, KnowThyNeighbor.org expects that many petition signers will be confronted about their actions as their names are discovered on the website by family members, friends, coworkers, customers, and acquaintances.
While each of these petitions are public records, KnowThyNeighbor.org has taken all the work out gathering them together and made them search-able and easily available in an attempt to intimidate the public from exercising their right to free speech and participation in the political process.
Funny thing is that the people who were interviewed for the story didn’t seem to be ashamed of their opinion, only that someone went out of their way to make their personal information easily accessible.
The sole reason is to chill and possibly repress the right of individuals to disagree with their position on this issue. If it’s successful then expect to see more of this kind of overt intimidation of political opponents.

Tax Day Tea Party Fort Smith, Arkansas
Yesterday seems to be a pretty successful day for Tea Party protests across the country.
In large communities and small people turned out to protest the governments irresponsible use of our tax money and to proclaim loudly that when the tax increases come…..and they will, we won’t stand for it.
We didn’t have the drama that some other places had, like the Chicago Tax Day Tea Party, just a lot of concerned citizens wanting to show their support.
I would estimate the crowd to be around 350 to 400 at the time we were there. Which is pretty good considering that there was no advertising that I saw outside of the National Tea Party Day website.
So here’s a few pictures.

We need to get as many pictures as possible up on the web, from small towns to large, so that the MSM and democrats in congress can’t simply dismiss or minimize this event.
So if you have some post them somewhere, and post a link in comments so others can find them and spread them throughout the net.
We also need to be ready for more protests, as many as it takes to get the attention of the politicians.
