Saturn to go Extinct
Another blow to the once proud American automotive industry.
GM to Close Saturn as Sale to Penske Falls Through
DETROIT — General Motors Co. said Wednesday it would shut down its Saturn brand after an agreement with Penske Automotive Group Inc. to acquire it fell apart.Penske, citing concerns of whether it could continue to supply vehicles after a manufacturing contract with GM ran out, ended talks with GM Wednesday to acquire the brand.
GM CEO Fritz Henderson said in statement that Saturn and its dealership network will be phased out.
“This is very disappointing news and comes after months of hard work by hundreds of dedicated employees and Saturn retailers who tried to make the new Saturn a reality,” Henderson said in a written statement. “PAG’s announcement explained that their decision was not based on interactions with GM or Saturn retailers.”
In a statement, the Bloomfield Hills, Mich.-based auto retailer says an agreement with another manufacturer to continue producing Saturn vehicles after GM stopped making them fell through, leading Penske to terminate talks with GM.

The automotive industry continues it’s slide into second class status in spite of the stimulus and bankruptcy.

Arkansas has a Lottery
The big news in this state is that Arkansas has finally got a state lottery up and running.
4 Scratch off tickets are available now with Arkansas joining Powerball on Halloween of this year.
Lottery’s First-Day Sales Exceed $1.2 Million
LITTLE ROCK — Ticket sales on the first day of Arkansas’ new state-run lottery totaled more than $1.2 million, the lottery’s director said Tuesday.
Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue estimated the lottery sold between $1.2 million and $1.3 million worth of scratch-off tickets Monday, the first day the tickets went on sale.
“One day doesn’t make a lottery, so we’ll see, but we feel good about where we are and the day we had yesterday,” he said.
On Tuesday, the lottery had taken in $966,531 by 5:30 p.m., lottery officials said.
About $720,000 in prizes were validated on the first day, officials said. Officials confirmed 140 prizes of $1,000 and one prize of $20,000, won by a player in Searcy.
Passailaigue said Tuesday lottery officials had also been contacted by a player in Van Buren who claimed to have won a $20,000 prize, but he said the prize had not yet been confirmed.~snip~
There are of course detractors of the lottery and they are making some noise but are basically drowned out by the excitement of the first week.
We’ll see how this goes, they start out with the whole education thing and then the legislature starts robbing it for pet projects. I don’t see it any different here, especially since Arkansas politics are more corrupt and has more nepotism than any other state bar Louisiana.

Creating the Next Wave
Truth is Obama speaking to school children isn’t necessary to indoctrinate the next generation into the socialist utopia that the left wants to force on America.
It’s being taught in our schools.
Elementary School Students Taught to Sing Praises of President Obama
Some parents in a New Jersey school district are up in arms after a class of elementary school students was videotaped singing the praises of President Obama, an activity that has been criticized as “indoctrination.”
The tension at B. Bernice Young Elementary School escalated to such a degree Thursday that the school was placed temporarily on lockdown after its principal received death threats over a YouTube video that showed nearly 20 children being taught songs lauding the president, though back-to-school night events continuing as planned Thursday night at the school.
Video of the students at the Burlington, N.J., school shows them singing songs seemingly overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for “Barack Hussein Obama,” repeatedly chanting the president’s name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his “great plans” to “make this country’s economy No. 1 again.”
One song that the children were taught quotes directly from the spiritual “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” though Jesus’ name is replaced with Obama’s: “He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama.”
This is becoming a recurring theme, using children to spread the message of change.
Hail Obama! Ode of the Obama Youth!
With even some militancy thrown in.
Obama Youth Brigade March in Formation
Members of the media have even refered to Obama as god like.
And here is a blog that documents the media’s obsessiveness with portraying Obama as the messiah by careful back lighting and positioning to create pictures with “halo’s” around his head.
Respecting a leader is one thing, worshipping is another, most parents in the article are outraged. As they should be.
It’s one thing for the media to do it, the market place and elections will ultimately decide if the public as a whole will swallow the propaganda. But the indoctrination of children in public schools has to stop.
They are, after all, public schools and should be respectful of the public at large and stick to teaching skills needed later in life.
Like critical thinking.

Defending Obama, by Invoking Bush
There is not a thing I can add to this commentary except, if Obama is supposed to be smarter and better than George Bush then, how come they keep comparing Obama’s failures to Bush’s?
Shapiro’s Law: Obama Supporters Must Cite Bush
On the Internet, there is a famous principle that has come to be known as Godwin’s Law. Named after columnist Mike Godwin, the Godwin Law states that as Internet discussions grow longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler (whether legitimate or illegitimate) approaches. Anyone who has spent any time browsing the blogosphere can verify Godwin’s Law.
Anyone who pays any attention to the trials and tribulations of President Obama can recognize the existence of another law. Call it Shapiro’s Law: As any conversation involving an Obama supporter grows longer, the probability of the Obama supporter citing the failings of President Bush approaches. In fact, Obama supporters rarely wait longer than 30 seconds before referencing President Bush’s shortcomings. President Obama himself talks about President Bush more than FDR, JFK, Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. combined.
Why do Obama supporters believe that President Bush’s weaknesses excuse President Obama’s total incompetence?
When you mention that President Obama has driven the national debt to unprecedented levels, they mention that the Bush administration spent too much, too. When you mention that President Obama has nationalized industries and seeks to subvert private health care, they mention that President Bush passed an expansion of drug benefits and sponsored bailouts of the financial firms.
This is utterly illogical.
If O.J. Simpson had committed double-homicide, then cited Ted Kennedy’s manslaughter as justification, we would have scoffed. Yet we are supposed to accept “Ignore Obama, Bush was horrible” sloganeering as the apotheosis of argumentative rhetoric.
This is an administration that does not deign to make logical arguments. This is an administration that calls names and levels slurs at its opponents rather than challenging them on logical grounds. This is an administration that embraces the polarizing politics of racial pandering and class warfare while claiming a nonexistent high-mindedness.

Read it, pass it along to every Obamabot you know.
His failing policies have nothing to do with Bush, he owns them.

The Wilbury’s.
Pete Stark,Typical Democrat
Who basically thinks he smarter, better and gosh darn it, people like him.
Congressman says some people aren’t worth peeing on
(CNN) — Rep. Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, raised eyebrows last month when he told a constituent at a raucous health care town hall event, “Trying to have a conversation with you would be like arguing with a dining room table.”
Now Rep. Pete Stark, D-California, is involved in a similar instant YouTube classic, telling a town-hall participant over the weekend that he wouldn’t “waste the urine” to pee on the man’s leg.
First reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and confirmed by a YouTube clip of the event, the longtime congressman made the remark after the participant launched into a long, but calm, litany about government inefficiency when it comes to nation’s health care system. The man concluded his remarks with warning Stark not to “pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.”
As the audience cheered, a calm Stark responded: “Well, I wouldn’t dignify you by peeing on your leg. It wouldn’t be worth wasting the urine.”
There was a mixture of laughter and boos as Stark motioned for the next question.
Here’s the video, about 1:36 in.
Of course he’s not gonna tolerate any questions he don’t want to answer either.
So here we are again with another democrat showing his own arrogance while simultaneously insulting a voter.
These guys truly believe they are entitled to their lofty positions, 2010 ain’t that far away.

Census Cutting Ties With ACORN Due to Videotaped Prostitution-Enabling
Now the House has voted to cut off their housing funds.
Senate Votes to Cut Off ACORN Housing Funding
The amendment, offered by Sen. Mike Johanns, passed in a vote of 83 to 7 and prohibits the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from receiving funds from the current Transportation and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. It marks the third time this year Republicans tried to block the organization from federal funding.
So where’s Waxman, how come he ain’t sticking his porky nose into this?
He is the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, how come there ain’t no oversight and reform now?

How about some hearings?
