Katie Couric Going Primetime
It seems CBS is offering us Katie Couric in primetime now which gives us 2 times the Katie.
With nothing to go up against American Idol what do they have to lose? Also I’m sure it has nothing to do with the poor return on their investment in Couric and their declining market either.

It’s on!!!!!!!
Obama has been elected, had his inauguration, parties, praise, prayers, accolades and adoration.
Now that all of that is over it’s time for Obama and Congress to get to work and time for the nation to hold both as accountable for their actions as the MSM and progressives did for the Bush administration for the last 8 years.
Go ahead……..create Shangri-la democrats….we’ll be watching.

The Legend and the Fall
In the worlds maniacal zeal to see the end of the Bush administration Barack Obama was given an almost divine aura of legitimacy, not only by the press in America but, by the entire world.
Yet here we are just a few days from his exorbitantly expensive inauguration and now the world steps back to reflect on what has been wrought. As the world markets roil and the middle east continues its turbulent roller coaster reality has begun to seep into the expectations and desires of Obama’s most devoted fans around the world.
As challenges mount, ardor for Obama cools abroad
Barack Obama got a global standing ovation long before he was elected president. But in a fickle and fast-moving world, the overseas reviews are already turning mixed.
Though much of the world will party through the night Tuesday after Obama is sworn in as America’s 44th president — just as it did when he was elected — there are signs the ardor is cooling as the sheer weight of his challenges sinks in.
A deepening global recession, new hostilities in the Middle East, complications in closing the Guantanamo Bay prison, Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan — an impatient world has a stake in all of them and is asking how much change Obama can deliver.
Obama has promised everything from social change and prosperity to peaceful coexistence with the whole world, friend and foe alike. But just how much change can we truly expect to see?
Everyone around the world has their own agenda, is it realistic to believe that everyone will be satisfied by Obama’s solutions? Can he even accomplish half of his promises while simultaneously stimulating the world’s economy, putting a chicken in every pot and providing social justice to every downtrodden special interest group in existence?
Will he ever really quit smoking?
Obama and the congress have 30 days after his inauguration to set the tone of his/their agenda, the big question I have is will they fiddle more with social change while the worlds economy burns or will he step up to the challenges before him?
I’m not sure any politician, republican or democrat no matter their “experience”, can live up to what is expected.
But Obama needs to rise above rhetoric and partisanship and become the leader he needs to be.

Targeting Sarah
Apparently it’s not enough that Obama’s been elected to office. Those who support the democrat party and identify themselves as progressives remain on the attack against anyone who could possibly gain enough support to oppose Obama in 2012.
Palin Fascination, Scorn Shows No Sign of Receding
Even in defeat, Sarah Palin is a constant topic of conversation — and scorn.
Though Palin’s official status in the Republican Party is governor of the nation’s least populated state, her time as No. 2 on the GOP presidential ticket has made her public enemy No. 1 in some quarters. The fascination with Palin shows no sign of letting up, even as the victor of the 2008 race prepares to enter the White House.
“The left certainly has targeted her and I think they see her as a potential 2012 Republican nominee,” said Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics.
A LexisNexis search shows Palin has generated roughly twice the news coverage as Vice President-elect Joe Biden.
Palin has not said whether she plans to run for national office again in 2012. The opening leaves her plenty of time to map out her career path, but it also leaves critics plenty of time to sharpen their attacks.
The Huffington Post, on its Palin-bashing Web page, explores “Sarah Palin Naked” and names her “The Dumbest Thing of 2008.”
At the New York Review of Books, intellectuals body-check the country’s most famous hockey mom.
“She has spent much more time in church than she has studying foreign policy,” wrote Frances Fitzgerald. “And the habit of mind these churches instill has little to do with diplomacy or peacemaking.”
British author Timothy Garton Ash wrote that, “Palin … like George W. Bush, reinforces every European cliche about the otherness (cowboyness, hickiness, wackiness) of Americans.”
And Pulitzer Prize winner Russell Baker said simply: “Ms. Palin could be the next Nixon.”
After 8 years of “Bush Derangement Syndrome” you’d think we could get a little break but it seems that the left needs this kind of diversion. Without outrage they have no purpose.
And speaking of “Bush Derangement Syndrome”, Breitbart.com posted this on it’s website.
Bush to give farewell address Thursday night
Light on comments there were still the obligatory “don’t let the door hit you in the ass!” comment and one hoping for the president and his wifes demise.
11. braaaaa January 12th, 2009 – 1:56 pm I hope bush and his dipsh*it wife die in a house fire.
But the real fun is over at the “social networking” sites like Digg where the unhinged truly had an opportunity to let go with several posters showing how imaginative they can be fantasizing over the death of another human being.
There’s been no real change, the haters still hate and the bile still festers.

Obama and the Big Digital Switch
Ran across this on FOX News.
Obama: Let’s Postpone Digital TV Switch
WASHINGTON — President-elect Barack Obama is urging Congress to postpone the Feb. 17 switch from analog to digital television broadcasting, arguing that too many Americans who rely on analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air channels won’t be ready.
In a letter to key lawmakers Thursday, Obama transition team co-chair John Podesta noted that the Commerce Department has run out of money for coupons to subsidize digital TV converter boxes for consumers.
People who don’t have cable or satellite service or a new TV with a digital tuner will need the converter boxes to keep their older analog sets working.
The government shouldn’t even be in the business of subsidizing these converter boxes in the first place. TV is profit driven, the stations and their owners are the ones who will benefit, so isn’t it their place to look at their local markets and see if switching to digital can be profitable or not?
For those who want to go ahead and convert to digital signals then, from a marketing stand point, it should be the stations and owners who provide the incentive for their audience to buy converter boxes.
Not the taxpayer.
The Declaration of Independence says we got a right to “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”….not prime time.

Commerce secretary Richardson Withdraws
Investigations, investigations.
How many more of Obama’s appointees will preemptively withdraw before their confirmations?
Richardson to withdraw as Commerce secretary
The New Mexico governor cites pending investigation of business dealingsNew Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, tapped in December by President-elect Barack Obama to serve as secretary of Commerce, has withdrawn his name for the position, citing a pending investigation into a company that has done business with his state.
“Let me say unequivocally that I and my Administration have acted properly in all matters and that this investigation will bear out that fact,” he said Sunday in a report by NBC News. “But I have concluded that the ongoing investigation also would have forced an untenable delay in the confirmation process.”
He said he plans to continue in his role as governor. “I appreciate the confidence President-elect Obama has shown in me, and value our friendship and working partnership. I told him that I am eager to serve in the future in any way he deems useful. And like all Americans, I pray for his success and the success of our beloved country.”
