Obama can blow it out his ears

Seems the Obamaessiah had himself a little hissy fit on the bailout failure.

Obama blasts Congress for failing to pass bailout bill

“I laid out principles” including “responsible oversight,” transparency and a cap on so-called golden parachutes –the big bonuses Wall Street CEOs would receive despite their involvement in the economic crisis, he said from Des Moines, Iowa. “I worked hard to play a constructive role.”

He said he was satisfied with the way the bill was written, though “it wasn’t perfect.”

One of the things that really jumps out is his use of “I did this” and “I did that”, I thought that this was supposed to transcend politics and the election?

I mean isn’t that what the Obama camp critisized McCain for?

“From the minute John McCain suspended his campaign and arrived in Washington to address this crisis, he was attacked by the Democratic leadership: Sens. Obama and [Senate Majority Leader Harry] Reid, Speaker Pelosi and others.

“Their partisan attacks were an effort to gain political advantage during a national economic crisis. By doing so, they put at risk the homes, livelihoods and savings of millions of American families,” Doug Holtz-Eakin, a senior policy adviser for McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, said in a statement.

“Barack Obama failed to lead, phoned it in, attacked John McCain and refused to even say if he supported the final bill. … This bill failed because Barack Obama and the Democrats put politics ahead of country,” Holtz-Eakin said.

The sad truth of all of this is that it wouldn’t have even been necessary if democratic politicians hadn’t put politics, popularity and power above the country.

Liberal democrats need to be held accountable for their PC policies, socialist engineering and thuggish intimidation tactics used to strong arm banks and mortgage companies into this mess.

We should all be screaming “Not one dime until congress repeals liberal lending mandates“.

Until then big ears can blow it out his ass.

Who killed the American dream?

If you really look around on the web you can find a plethora of videos and articles pointing to the real cause of the wall street mortgage meltdown. A really great video is posted on YouTube that goes through the timeline perfectly.

Burning Down The House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis?

Anne Coulter posts one of her “no punches pulled” articles that gets right down to the truth of who and why we are where we’re at today.

THEY GAVE YOUR MORTGAGE TO A LESS QUALIFIED MINORITY

Under Clinton, the entire federal government put massive pressure on banks to grant more mortgages to the poor and minorities. Clinton’s secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Andrew Cuomo, investigated Fannie Mae for racial discrimination and proposed that 50 percent of Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s portfolio be made up of loans to low- to moderate-income borrowers by the year 2001.

Instead of looking at “outdated criteria,” such as the mortgage applicant’s credit history and ability to make a down payment, banks were encouraged to consider nontraditional measures of credit-worthiness, such as having a good jump shot or having a missing child named “Caylee.”

Threatening lawsuits, Clinton’s Federal Reserve demanded that banks treat welfare payments and unemployment benefits as valid income sources to qualify for a mortgage. That isn’t a joke — it’s a fact.

When Democrats controlled both the executive and legislative branches, political correctness was given a veto over sound business practices.

In 1999, liberals were bragging about extending affirmative action to the financial sector. Los Angeles Times reporter Ron Brownstein hailed the Clinton administration’s affirmative action lending policies as one of the “hidden success stories” of the Clinton administration, saying that “black and Latino homeownership has surged to the highest level ever recorded.”

Meanwhile, economists were screaming from the rooftops that the Democrats were forcing mortgage lenders to issue loans that would fail the moment the housing market slowed and deadbeat borrowers couldn’t get out of their loans by selling their houses.

There’s scads of links out there that I can refer to to show the malfeasance and total disregard of entrenched democratic congress critters, along with the full support of Bill Clinton, to undermine the “due diligence” of financial institutions to protect the deposits, investments and assets of working Americans.

The Truth About Our Economic Crisis

Want to know why we’re all in the mess we are now in?

A poster at youtube called the Mouthpeace put together this 10 minute video spelling it out, providing information that you can use to look it up also.

The video goes by pretty fast so to read some sections you may have to pause it, but it’s well worth the time.

Liberal democrats caused this problem, why would we expect them to fix it?

The original link is here.

McCain Post Debate Ad

Simply titled, “McCain is Right”.

There’s a lot that I disagree with McCain on, but I trust him on far more issues than I ever would trust Obama.

If you want to get in on AOL’s News poll the link is here.

Obama, McCain Wrestle Over War, Taxes

I wonder if Obama’s supporters are organized enough to spam polls for him like Ron Pauls minions did?

Libertarians are NOT Conservative

Next time some paleo-libertarian tries to claim that they’re “conservative” link them to this article.

Libertarian Group Condemns Sarah Palin for Not Killing Disabled Baby in Abortion

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) – A writer for a libertarian group has written perhaps the most scathing attack on pro-life vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin since the Alaska governor was announced weeks ago as John McCain’s running mate. Nicholas Provenzo condemns Palin for the birth of her baby Trig, who has Down syndrome.

Provenzo, who writes for the Center for the Advancement of Capitalism, not only bashes her for allowing Trig to be born, but says she should have made the so-called morally justifiable decision to kill him in an abortion.

The Center for the Advancement of Capitalism bills itself as a group “dedicated to advancing individual rights and economic freedom through Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism.”

“Like many, I am troubled by the implications of Alaska governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s decision to knowingly give birth to a child disabled with Down syndrome,” Provenzo writes.

“Given that Palin’s decision is being celebrated in some quarters, it is crucial to reaffirm the morality of aborting a fetus diagnosed with Down syndrome (or by extension, any unborn fetus)—a freedom that anti-abortion advocates seek to deny,” he adds.

Provenzo advocates not only a discriminatory, but apparently a pro-eugenics view of the disabled that rivals that of Nazi Germany.

“A parent has a moral obligation to provide for his or her children until these children are equipped to provide for themselves,” he contends. “Because a person afflicted with Down syndrome is only capable of being marginally productive (if at all) and requires constant care and supervision, unless a parent enjoys the wealth to provide for the lifetime of assistance that their child will require, they are essentially stranding the cost of their child’s life upon others”

Original article: Palin’s Down syndrome child and the right to abortion

Using this logic it’s a short step to euthanizing the very old or the profoundly disabled, is this the direction that libertarians want to take this nation?

There is no starker contrast, in my opinion, between conservatives, democrats and libertarians.

Sharia Law Comes to Britain

Well here’s an interesting turn of events from across the pond.

Britain Adopts Islamic Law, Gives Sharia Courts Full Power to Rule on Civil Cases

Islamic law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.

The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.

Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through county courts or the country’s High Court, a part of its Supreme Court system.

Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.

Politicians and church leaders expressed concerns that this could mark the beginnings of a “parallel legal system” based on sharia for some British Muslims.

Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: “If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so.”

I guess a lot of people will wonder why we should care about the adoption of sharia law in Britain, it can’t possibly affect us here right? Well lets just take a look at what Justice Ginsburg had to say in 2005.

Justice Ginsburg: Supreme Court Considers Foreign Laws, Not Just Constitution

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Friday that as a justice she considers foreign laws – not just U.S. laws and its Constitution – in forming her legal opinions.

Ginsburg said criticisms of relying too heavily on world opinion “should not lead us to abandon the effort to learn what we can from the experience and good thinking foreign sources may convey.”

“The notion that it is improper to look beyond the borders of the United States in grappling with hard questions has a certain kinship to the view that the U.S. Constitution is a document essentially frozen in time as of the date of its ratification,” Ginsburg added in remarks to the members of the 99 year-old American Society of International Law in Washington, D.C.

So now do you still think sharia law can’t happen here?

YouTube takes a stand, reluctantly

Google’s YouTube has released new guidelines banning certain videos that could incite others to commit violent acts, illegal activities or hate speech.

The guidelines include this.

“While it might not seem fair to say you can’t show something because of what viewers theoretically might do in response, we draw the line at content that’s intended to incite violence or encourage dangerous, illegal activities that have an inherent risk of serious physical harm or death. This means not posting videos on things like instructional bomb making, ninja assassin training, sniper attacks, videos that train terrorists, or tips on illegal street racing. Any depictions like these should be educational or documentary and shouldn’t be designed to help or encourage others to imitate them.”

Basically they have banned videos that contain content that could be used to instruct or incite terrorist violence.

Cool beans huh?

Finding Conservatives on Digg

It seems it’s no surprise that the overwhelming number of Digg users are of a liberal bent. So I suggest that we all get together and Digg this post while also shouting out to everyone we know to create a list of conservative/republican Digg users.

Comment on this post and lets build a group of friends with similar interests and ideals so we can share articles and blog posts of mutual interest.
